Camera, the cause of Yuri’s “오~요~” incident in Japan

On KBS 2TV’s “Happy Together” aired on November 11th, the innocent, smart and outspoken SNSD members, Sunny, Taeyeon, Sooyoung, Yuri and Seohyun gave the viewers and fans more than an hour worth of good laughs.

On this show, the girls explained about how they usually go about their greetings during their activities in Korea. Since there are many members in a group, one person would lead the greeting and the rest would follow.

Yuri elaborated, “For example, when one of the members said ‘안(An)?소(So)?잘(Jal)!’, together, the rest of the members would say ‘안녕하세요. 소녀시대입니다. 잘 부탁드립니다 (Romanization: Annyeong haseyo. So Nyeo Shi Dae Ibnida. Jal butakduribnida/ Meaning: Hi. We are Girls’ Generation. Thank you)’. If keywords ‘수(Soo).감(Kam)!’ are mentioned then the members would say ‘수고하셨습니다. 감사합니다 (Romanization: Soogohasyeosseubnida. Kamsahabnida/ Meaning: You’ve worked hard. Thank you)’.

Yuri then shared an embarassing story which happened to her in Japan. She explained, “During our activities in Japan, when a member says the keywords ‘오(o)?요(yo)’, we are supposed to say ‘오하이요 고자이마스! 요로시쿠 오네가이시마스!(Romanization (Japanese): Ohayo gozaimasu! Yoroshiku onegaishimasu/ Meaning: Good morning. Please treat me nicely). However, on one occassion, a camera caught me suddenly. So, I got panicked and said ‘오(o)~요(yo)~’ instead”. Upon hearing that SNSD members and the MCs burst into laughter.
