SEOUL : Seven months after touring Asia, Korea's popular group Girls' Generation (SNSD) is back in Seoul to meet their fans.
The 9-member group has topped the pop charts in many Asian cities, even though many of their fans may not understand their songs.
Speaking at a news conference on Monday, the group talked about the possible reasons behind their success.
Speaking in English, Girls' Generation member Tiffany said: "What sets us apart from different teams was our team work. The chemistry between our members is really close and I have to say that keeps us going, ... and the dedication.
"What was hard is that we are still young, and so sometimes, consistency is really hard but we really pulled through together with each other. Apart from team work, I'd have to say we are really fortunate to have such good teamwork (not just) with each other, but also our fans in Korea (and) globally.
Girls' Generation member Tae Yeon said: "Not being able to speak the same language is pretty hard, but music is a universal language. And we are glad that our fans are really appreciating our music despite the language difference.
"We wanted to share that energy with everyone, share that energy through our brightness, clean image... and show the image of us through our music. And we hope you got some of our energy!"
The all-girl pop group was recently in Singapore for the KPop Night 2010, which also saw six other popular K-pop acts including Big Bang, SHINee, FT Island and ZE:A in attendance.
Together, the popsters bedazzled some 8,000 concert-goers at the one-night only music extravaganza at the Singapore Expo. - CNA /ls
