On November 20th, the panel of judges for the 52nd Japan Record Awards have selected SNSD to be one of the recipients for the “Newcomers Awards’ and a nominee for “Best New Artist Award”.
SNSD debuted in Japan with their debut single “Genie”, followed by second single “Gee” this year and both singles sold over 100,000 copies respectively. The girls whose success in Japan could also be observed from their Oricon chart achievements are playing a major role in spreading the Korean wave in Japan.
On November 30th, The 52nd Japan Record Awards will be televised LIVE on TBS.
