Jessica officially leaves SM Entertainment

On August 6th, it was reported that Jessica Jung and SM Entertainment officially decided to cancel their contracts and part ways.
SM Entertainment stated on the 6th, “After much discussion with Jessica, we have decided it best for both party’s future developments to go each other’s way. Please cheer for Jessica who is going to star on a new path.”
The celebrity made a statement regarding the split as well, stating, “Hello, This is Jessica. I would like to let everyone know that I have officially terminated my contract with SM after much discussion and both parties have decided to officially go on each other’s way. I cherish all the time I spent with SM and wish the best for the company. I would like to thank all the fans for your love and support. I will also do my best to live up to my fans expectations. I would like to ask you to watch over my new beginning.”
Jessica withdrew from the girl group in September of 2014 to pursue her career in fashion with her brand BLANC & ECLARE. Since then, she has been active in China and Hong Kong, promoting her designs through various activities and fashion events. It has been rumored that she has also been working on a return to the music scene following the past release of photos featuring the artist in the recording studio.
