Edmonton Event Update - Mac Cafe Formal Dinner and Silent Auction

- There is just one last event that we are helping with before the summer!
We hope you enjoyed our Talent Show, and now we want to finish the school year off with a bang and invite you all to the Mac Cafe Formal Dinner and Silent Auction!
It will be held at the wonderful Palace on Saturday May 5, 2012. Cocktails and doors are at 6:00 PM and the entertainment and dinner go from 7PM to 10PM. Tickets are just $30 and will include Filipino food (courtesy of Mac Cafe), guest speakers, the amazing performances by Angelique Bebe, Emmanuel Romero, the MOD Contemporary dance group, as well as many others for your entertainment while you eat!
This event will be used to fundraise money toward Streetlight Philippines - a Philippines based non-profit organization that helps eradicate child poverty. All the proceeds will go towards Streetlight's mandate of attaining a future free of drugs, human trafficking, prostitution and starvation.
This event is a semi-formal to formal event so please dress accordingly. Salamat!!

[Edmonton] MAC Formal Dinner & Silent Auction
There is an estimated 1.5 million children that live on the streets in the Philippines. With
your help we can liberate these children from the streets with the upcoming Mac Café Formal
Dinner and Silent Auction in support of Streetlight, a Philippines based non-profit organization
that helps eradicate child poverty. Since 2006, Streetlight has been working with children living
on the streets of Tacloban, Philippines. Their goal is to give these children a loving and caring
childhood, education and regained faith in a family life.
The University of Alberta Philippine Students’ Association is working together with
volunteers and substantial benefactors to make this event possible. The money raised from this
event will be used for the development of educational and medical institutions for these street
children to help prevent the use of drugs, human trafficking, child prostitution and starvation.
With your help we can assist these children have a better future and make a difference along with
our prominent sponsors that support us for this cause.
With the assistance of kindhearted sponsors, there will be substantial items at the silent
auction including an Automotive Care Package by Mayfield Toyota, Hotel Accommodations by
Fantasyland Hotel, a Night At The Ranch package, concert tickets, on-demand restaurants gift
cards, gift packages, sports and local attraction passes, and much more. It is an all ages event,
with guest speakers starring Jonathan Rivero of Balikbayan Project, along with some of the best
talent Edmonton has to offer with Angelique Bebe, Marc Daigle, the University of Alberta MOD
Contemporary Dance Group, traditional Filipino renditions, and many more. Some of the finest
Filipino dishes will be served with delectable and traditional desserts prepared by Mac Cafe &
Juice Bar and other local Filipino restaurants.
The Mac Café Formal Dinner & Silent Auction will be held on Saturday, May 5th, 2012 at
6 pm at ‘The Palace’ located at 3223 Parsons Road (99st). Tickets are $30 per person. Please
